Cerro Coso Community College was established in 1973 as a separate college within the
Kern Community College District. Cerro Coso has five instructional sites (Eastern Sierra Center
Bishop &
Mammoth,
Indian Wells Valley,
Kern River Valley, and
South Kern), which together form the largest geographical service area (18,000 square miles) of any community college in California and which serve a population of approximately 85,000. A leader in online education, Cerro Coso has been offering

Cerro Coso Announces Scholarship Deadline
This is the time of year when students about to graduate from high school should be "doing their homework" on the many college scholarships that are available. The Cerro Coso Community College Foundation wants to make sure that as many students as possible take advantage of the scholarship opportunities available at Cerro Coso before it's too late. Feb. 29 is the deadline to apply for 59 scholarships totaling $28,500 offered by the Foundation. [More] |

Assemblywoman Grove to hold mobile office at Cerro Coso
Assemblywoman Shannon Grove will hold a monthly mobile office in the Student Center at Cerro Coso Community College the second Tuesday of every month from 1 to 2 p.m. The following dates have been confirmed: February 14, March 13, April 10, and May 8, 2012.
A representative of Assemblywoman Grove's will be available for students, staff, and community members to meet, address concerns, and express opinions. No appointment is necessary.

Cerro Coso announces the establishment of the Pam Coward Memorial Scholarship
Pam was a Human Resource Assistant at the college for 10 years and lost her courageous fight with brain cancer in October of 2010. Family and coworkers have established a scholarship through the CCCC Foundation in her honor.
The scholarship is open to all full-time students at any Cerro Coso campus with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and has been accepted to a 4-Year Institution of Higher Education. No major need be declared.

Former NFL Player Tuipala speaks at Celebrity Sports Dinner
Former NFL player Joseph Tuipala was the guest of honor at the Celebrity Sports Dinner hosted by the CCCC Athletic Boosters on Saturday, February 4, 2012. A pinnacle event for local sports fans, Tuipala, a 1994 graduate of Burroughs High School, went on to play for the New Orleans Saints in 1999 and the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2001 to 2003. [More] |

Cerro Coso offering Acting for Television & Film for Children and Adults
New acting classes offered through Cerro Coso's Office of Community Education will cover acting techniques for the stage, television, and films.
