Placement Exam / Assessment

A College Placement Test (CPE) is administered to incoming students. The scores are used to assist counselors and students in selecting appropriate level courses and to determine if minimum proficiencies in writing, reading and mathematics have been met.

Financial Aid will no longer available to students entering California Community Colleges without a High School Diploma or a GED. This is effective as of June 30, 2012.

All students who do not have a High School diploma or GED must take the ATB test prior to enrolling in Summer 2012 classes. This will be the LAST opportunity for students without a High School Diploma or GED to receive Financial Aid while attending Cerro Coso. Students beginning their enrollment in the Fall 2012 must graduate from an accredited alternative or adult high school program or pass the GED before receiving Financial Aid while attending Cerro Coso.

All students must attend Orientation prior to Assessment. If you have not completed Orientation you will be asked to leave and reschedule. Dates are subject to change without notice. Appointment Required. Call (760) 384-6219.
